Wicked Good Chats: Subrecipient Monitoring, Single Audit Findings and Management Decisions

Description

A management decision is a formal written response to an audit finding, and pass-through entities are required to issue them for certain types of subrecipient audit findings. OMB’s compliance supplement was recently updated to include new instructions to auditors to test for compliance in this area. This session will cover what constitutes a proper management decision, exactly when they are required to be issued, and will review specific audit findings and show how the determination is made. We’ll discuss different approaches both institutions and auditors may take to compliance, and how management decisions fit into the broader tasks of subrecipient audit review, risk assessment, and monitoring.
